Talk to Me, Until the Night Is Over

(Bruce plus Southside Johnny and the whole flippin' E Street Band! Just listen to those fat horns! Nuh NUH, nuh NUH ... Love, love, love: "I'm down on my bended knee, just beggin' you to talk to me!")

Yes, that is the Boss, Bruce Springsteen. Southside Johnny has collaborated with him a number of times - Springsteen loves to work with other musicians. I don't know how rare this one is - I was just looking for a good version of "Talk to Me" because I was feeling sorry for myself!

Sure: http://youtu.be/Xacdz4-g7BE

But actually, my fave Springsteen vid on Youtube is this one: "Mary's Place," live in Barcelona, October 16, 2002 ("The Rising" tour).

My brother knew Bruce when he was with the band Steel Mill, back in '69 - '71 - they played a lot of the same clubs in Richmond, which was where my bro lived then. As I remember it, he said Bruce was a nice guy. Several years later my brother's band did really excellent covers of "Spirits in the Night" and "She's the One", which are still two of my favorite Springsteen songs.

Losing The Big Man last year was a great loss-- he will be missed and hard to replace. I think the last work he did was his solos on on Lady Gaga's last album, vvhere he did am amazing job - I believe it was recorded not that long befote he died.

That's awesome! Yeah, I understand that Springsteen is a very big-hearted guy. (And yes, the loss of Clarence Clemons was a huge sadness.)

I like "Spirits in the Night." Currently my favorite Springsteen song is "Mary's Place" from The Rising. I like to use Springsteen lyrics (among others) in my springkink prompts.
