Did you have a good weekend?

Pretty good yesterday - did some tabletop science fiction roleplaying with some old friends. But we got back very late and I was too tired to sleep (yeah, it happens), so I was out of it most of today.

What's up with your job?

Well, I hope you hear good news soon!

Reasonably so, but like you, getting things accomplished sometimes leads to late nights, which lead to woozy days.

It's kind of sad. RPG in particular is associated with late nights for me, and it never used to matter. It still doesn't seem to matter for most of the players, some of whom are even older than we are, but I don't deal with it very well nowadays.

Maybe it's the emotional content or involvement, either with the characters or the other people playing, that does it for you now? I find I need more time to come down from intense experiences than I used to. It may have more to do with personality or other conditions than age.

My weekend was spent entertaining the puppy and being entertained by punch-drunk reporters covering the tail end of #elxn41 (election 41) campaign. :)

Today, I vote!

Voting = awesome.

I spent a lot of time with our senior-citizen rabbits, too. My daughter (home from college for the weekend) took one look at Brownie's surgery scar, where she had a growth removed from her back two weeks ago, and announced "Frankenbunny!"

Hee. Poor bunny.

My puppy is in for her spaying today. I'm sure she'll still be TOO CUTE in a tiny little cone.

Toby's mom was in town for a golf tournament, staying at the house of friends, and we went there for dinner which was mostly good except for one person who just would. not. shut. up.

But it kept his mom from quizzing us when we revealed our plans of starting to look for a house to buy. :)

I've started to feel some sympathy for moms at times like that, though, as long as they're not too persistent. Given the relief we felt when my widowed mom-in-law remarried, I think some of it is just a desire to feel that the offspring will have someone else to care for him or her in the long term when the mom can't do it.

There seems to be quite a lot of house-buying going on around my f-list this spring.

It was okay, I guess. I'm spring-cleaning my bookshelves, so there's a pile of manga which I'll look at again next weekend to be sure I really, honestly won't miss them.

How was yours?
May. 3rd, 2011 01:43 am (UTC)

I need to do some of that myself, mainly because I have piles of smillaraaq's manga, and I should send at least some of them back.

It was pretty good, although I am short on sleep - I haven't slept well the past couple of nights. We did science fiction RPG at a friend's on Saturday, although there wasn't much actual role-playing because we just finished an adventure last session, so this time was all the book-keeping and setting up for the next real episode.

Did you have a good weekend?

I did, actually! Somewhat against all expectations, considering how the entire month of April went—it makes me cautiously optimistic for May. Yourself?

We had a pleasant (albeit not very action-filled) RPG session with friends on Saturday night, but then I couldn't sleep after we got back home, so Sunday passed in a haze.
