Yuletide Icons 2010

Many many Yuletide icons (apparently I lost my mind this time), including some warm climate Yule, cartoons and comics, children's books, and even some TV (and Lady Gaga, too). Samples:

Apologies to anyone whom I did not credit - once I got around to working with some of the art, I found that I had not recorded the info that I thought I had.

*squee* SO very shiny. I was going to name individual ones I liked, but that would be almost all of them. :D

I'm glad you liked them! (And I have a pic of Agatha I was going to use too, but when I hit 100 icons - I kicked some out - I figured it was time to knock it off for the year. Maybe next time!)

These are great! I grabbed #17 (the luminarias) & #22 (the Grinch). Thanks!

Lin Wang is really something - I found her work on an illustrator agent site. She did the one of the reindeer with the magnificent antlers and the little girl asleep and dreaming too.

These are wonderful. I especially adore the one with the penguins, and the train!

I am so taking the XF Yuletide icon. I think I love you.

Edit: also the ones with palmtrees 'cause I live in LA.

Awww, thanks!

I was very struck by the people last year who wanted icons for climates without snowy, cold themes. I'm glad that one suited!

Taking a lot of these. Gorgeous job!
Nov. 21st, 2010 02:43 am (UTC)

Thanks for the kind words! I'm glad you enjoyed them!

Shiny! And hee, I recognize a couple of the Hawaiian cards! XD

I don't recognize the artist for Dream right off the bat, but that Death is one of Chris Bachalo's iconic pieces.

(Also, that Harley Quinn looks like it's either Bruce Timm or at least someone carefully following his character design.)

I am so not shocked that you recognized the cards, imouto-chan ... although it's also cute because I was thinking about you as I was collecting them.

Thanks so much for the artists' names!

Snagged several and squealed aloud at the one for "The Wolves of Willoughby Chase"!

Nov. 21st, 2010 02:54 am (UTC)

Yes, that was definitely inspired by seeing Aiken's books on the list of fandoms! I'm glad you found it!

These are so lovely! I snagged the Winnie-the-Pooh one, both Narnia ones, and the one of Death from Sandman. :)

Awww, thanks! I'm happy you found some you liked!

These are all lovely! I'm taking #42, which looks rather like the scene outside my window at the moment.
Nov. 21st, 2010 02:56 am (UTC)

I was very taken by that illustration of the ravens! I'm glad it found a home.

Nov. 20th, 2010 11:31 pm (UTC)
I tried not to get grabby but these are all so amazing! Gorgeous, and tantalizingly representative of all these different fandoms that come to life this time of year. Snagging 2, 13, 21, 54, 63, 39 will credit. My particular favourite is 21 - Gorey is my hero and I've always associated him with this time of year, don't know why. :D
Nov. 21st, 2010 02:58 am (UTC)

Aww, thank you! Yes, that's what I was trying to convey - I'm so pleased it worked! (And yes, Gorey is surprisingly holiday-like, considering how macabre he can be.)
