Heee, it's quite alright, and thank you!! This has been a very... relaxed birthday year, as I haven't even had a part with my family yet (it's slated for this Sunday), so don't feel bad!

And oh gosh, um. Really? o//////o *is maybe flailing a little*

are you familiar with the Earthsea books?

Awwww, happy belated birthday from me as well! I have a couple more manga I've been meaning to send you...must try to remember to box them up and get 'em out to the mailbox. *hugs*

Are you going to be coming to AnimeUSA next month, btw?

And actually I was just about to email you something tonight, too -- I was wondering if I could buy a print of the sweet ickle!Gojyo you did for me to include in a care package for sensei? Unless it would weird you out too much to have your art going to Minekura herself, which I understand.

Aw, thank you~~! And yay, more manga! You're far too good to me. *hugs back* You can just bring those to AUSA if you'd like to save the mailing costs -- I will indeed be there.

And and omg YES, I'll definitely send you a copy, and psh, don't pay me, srsly. I don't think I'll be so much weirded out by my art going to sensei as just plain flaily and nervous about if she'll like it!

Awww, I was sad that you didn't have hard-copy on hand to enjoy and use for reference, and I've got a good nose for finding cheap/free used books, so it seemed like the least I could do. :) I can bring them down to AUSA if you like, but if you're going to be seriously loaded down with all your luggage and booth stuff it's really not much trouble for me to ship it -- I'm hitting the post office every day to check for new cranes anyway, and shipping Media Mail will be less than three bucks.

Awwww, I'm sure she'll enjoy it, he's adorable! And if you've seen her blog she's always so incredibly touched when her fans show her support like that. Do you think it can get here by next week? If that's possible, it can go in the very first care package, but if that's not doable don't worry, we're working up a few more to go out later in the year so just take your time and I'll save it for the big one after her surgery.

Well, I must admit I do love getting packages even if I already know what's in them, so if you truly don't mind, I won't complain. ^^ I won't be overloaded at AUSA at all though, so don't worry about that.

And I can have it in the mail tomorrow! Since we're only a couple states apart, you ought to have it by Saturday, I'm guessing, or by next week for sure. Same address I sent the original to?

Hee! In that case I might just mail them out anyway then -- I have a few other book-swap packages that need to go out too, and that will free up a tiny bit of desperately-needed shelfspace a few weeks sooner. Which, considering I tend to drag home so many new books from a con, is a futile effort at heart, but still! XD

Hmmm, if it's not too much trouble, can you send it to the P.O. box listed here instead? The home address you used before is still good, but occasionally the guys delivering my home mail are a little overenthusiastic about trying to jam things into my mail box; since the P.O. box is so tiny they're better about not even trying to squish things and leaving me a pick-up slip instead, so that'll help make extra-sure the baby kappa arrives safely. And if you want to write a get-well message on the print itself or include a card or note for sensei, feel free! I'll add it in to the collection of cards and letters and drawings that are going out in the care package along with all our cranes. Thank you so much! *squishes you*

Sent! I mailed it to the 'Cranes for Minekura' P.O. box, and the people at my post office said it ought to be there Monday. I included a small note with the print, and put both in a sleeve with some cardboard backing, which you can just leave as-is unless you need to save weight or space and want to take the cardboard out.
You'll also notice the package has been opened and re-taped shut... that was my doing, so no worries about tampering. ^^;

Thank you! *hearts* I have a few other cards and drawings to go out along with the first senbazuru, and all the envelopes with cool stamps from all over the world, so I'll probably end up putting everything into a folder or portfolio of some sort.

And I'm packing up a few other books to go out, so I'll probably get your latest few manga volumes out tomorrow, too. :)

I'm very, very familiar with the first two Earthsea books, so much so that I can probably quote chunks of them off the top of my head. I'm less familiar with The Farthest Shore and Tehanu, but that's a solvable problem.

What did you have in mind?

Oct. 21st, 2010 09:25 pm (UTC)
Oh, yay! Those are some of my very, very favorite books.

I'm not really sure what I'd have in mind; I'd rather kinda leave it up to your muse... if you know the first two best, perhaps something drabble-ish exploring Sparrowhawk/Ged and Vetch's friendship (not slashy), or the otak, or Ged and Tenar - maybe a pre-romance lost scene or something? Really, pretty much anything about Earthsea would make me flail like a flaily thing. <3

Hmm, I do better with a little direction (though actually, something is trying to form out of the mist in my brain already).

Can you pass me some of your "cool bits," maybe?

See this and this for what I mean.
