This is surprisingly addicting, even though I can't understand much more than the character's names and a very few words (like onna - "woman"):
Hakkai (well, Gonou in these scenes) is completely adorable, and the scene where he's telling his story to Gojyo is quite close to the manga, I think - complete with Gojyo holding up his pinkie yakuza-style to mean a woman when he asks about the person Gonou has lost.

And the guys are really well-cast for the most part -- Doku's too skinny, of course, but the ikkou in particular are wonderful, their body language is dead-on...and Hakkai is just disturbingly pretty.
...I'll be in my bunk.
The push-ups thing was a bit weird ... I was like, "what part of 'Be There' is this supposed to be?"
XD
They're all ridiculously cute, but Hakkai's bone structure is just...dayumn. It's such an amazingly androgynous beauty, just the sort of thing I'd imagine for the character: with looks like that, no wonder Gojyo calls him "bijin"...
Ah, what would I do without my smilla-san to set me straight? Thank you ... I clearly mis-remembered that about the pinkie.
:-)
The problem with the files of the musical is that the person who put them up arbitrarily broke them into 10-minute segments ... yes, I'm so picky about my free entertainment! But they really are fun to watch.
I know! But it would have been distracting if the fangirls had been throwing their unmentionables on stage ... .
Awww! I would have loved to know all about what you thought!
I like the Gojyo guy, although I haven't seen him do a real Gojyo Grin yet. He seems to be better at the serious expressions.
But you're right, a Gojyo grin or really any kind of lighter moment would have been nice. I mean I loved all the angst and drama, but what's Saiyuki without the fun? Maybe that just got lost in the non-existant translation. But overall, I really liked it.
I'm glad you located it! Enjoy!
You might want to join/watch the saiyuki_news community - it's pretty good at picking up this sort of stuff from all the Saiyuki LJ comms and posting it every day - everything from icons dumps and doujinshi for sale through new fanfic and new chapters in scans/translations. That's where I first saw these videos.
