Whee, a Personality Test!

Personal DNA

I think I must have done this one before at some point, but I can't find a post. Anyway, it says I am a:

Considerate Idealist

Or, as I usually say, a big bag of mush, wear my heart on my sleeve, and so on.

I always end up wanting to figure out how these tests map onto each other – if they do at all! (Like, does my MBTI category, INFP, map onto this, and would my daughter's INTJ map onto whatever she would get on this one.)

You don't think online psych tests are designed the same way psychics operate, weaving things that are convoluted and ambiguous enough that almost anyone would be thinking, *thoughtful expression* 'That never occurred to me before, but how very true!'?

I have enjoyed the more analytical types of personality tests since well before before there was a WWW (although not before there was an Internet). I first encountered the MBTI in high school sometime (that would have been in the 1970s), in a library book. I now own several books on the subject. I've found them to be useful for things like coping with stress at work because they help me pinpoint what exactly it is about the situation that bothers me. It's also been useful in explaining my emotional benders to my husband, who is not the sort of person who reacts to things that way.

This test had some things in common with the full MBTI test. And I know that a number of people on my f-list have this kind of interest as well, so I linked to it on that basis. The friend who first pointed it out to me is pursuing a counseling degree.

But you're free to think it's all BS.   XD

I may be a little bit cynical. (It's been commented on!)
