Marilee J. Layman Has Died

Kyoushirou-tears

I first encountered mjlayman at [personal profile] james_davis_nicoll's place on LJ a couple of years ago. We discovered that we lived on opposite sides of the same city, and after that we had little chats from time to time on each other's LJs.

I just found out that she passed away earlier this week, leaving behind her two kitties, Junie and Loki. We had talked about going out for Peking Duck together, and now it will never happen. *sigh*

*hugs* I didn't know her personally as you did, but I sometimes ran across her LJ while I was bored and trolling friends of friends pages. (I'm glad to report that I don't do that anymore.) It is a hollow feeling when you make vague plans with someone and then death or something else intervenes to prevent it.

And death is so terribly final (she says, quite seriously).

A similar regret was about my father: he was just getting into the Beatles shortly before his death in 2001, and I was thinking I would make him a Billy Joel tape because Dad was a New Yorker by birth and loved Broadway, and Broadway is one of Joel's big influences. The "Movin' Out" musical was a great illustration of that: we saw it, and he would have loved that too. But Dad died before I did anything with the idea. :-(
