Yuletide Pimping Post Is Up!

If you're at least seriously thinking about participating, go flack your favorite little-known, seldom-written fandoms!

In unrelated news, I was home at a semi-reasonable time tonight and saw a rainbow on the way up from the Metro, so life is looking somewhat better.

Whee, I did it and amazingly, several people have heard of my obscure 1980s Regency romance fandom! (And it's not Heyer.)

I'm wondering whether I should flack the Teahouse comic (if someone doesn't beat me to it).

But I feel rather dishonest about that, because when it comes down to actual requests, I probably wouldn't request it. I enjoy it, but for Yuletide, I tend to ask for old favorites.

I think someone may have jumped the gun a bit, but the nominations will probably be in just a few weeks, so it certainly can't hurt to have people thinking about it!

I'm really bummed about only nominating three fandoms, though! What if no one nominates mine because they think everyone else has already done it? (I am already anticipating locked posts where everyone plans out their strategy.)

I know! And the problem is, I don't even know anyone to horse-trade with ... I often go for old, old favorites for Yuletide requests.

But you could always ask! We could form a Yuletide nomination co-op! (Locked, of course!)

I am seriously considering it.

Rainbows always cheer me up, no matter what. I don't know why. They're like magic and science all at the same time!

Yeah, exactly! Even as I'm checking the angle of the sun to see how it relates, I'm feeling awed and magic-y!

They are absolutely awesome! I can't believe I've seen two within a month of each other - that rocks!

I miss being able to see two or three a day... *sighs*

Aww ... >hugs<   They have mostly been very rare in my life. This is a damp climate - the one time I was out west, it was just much too dry for me! - but not like your old home.

I may well have seen more meteors than I have rainbows.

I want to see the aurora borealis for real sometime. I don't really have a bucket list, but that's one of the few things that make me feel that way.

You've got me beat by a mile on meteors, so I guess it balances out! The combo of frequent light showers with bright sunlight just makes for the perfect conditions for frequent and long-lasting rainbows.

I'd love to see the aurora some day, too. And I always, always used to watch for the green flash any time I was on the beach at sunset, but I never managed to see one.
