Icons for Yuletide!

I come bearing icons for Yuletide! (Rather late ... I'm sorry!) They include general themes such as gifts and winter, as well as a few specific fandoms. A number of them are based on classic children's book illustrations or covers. Oh, and some are reprises of the date-specific ones I did last year. Enjoy!

Awwww, pibblepuppy!

What is the Dillons piece of the little Russian girl in blue from, a retelling of Snegoruchka?
Dec. 4th, 2008 06:54 pm (UTC)

Oy, thanks for commenting! I got my numbering wrong. Yes, that is Snegurochka, but she's from some obscure Russian site. The Dillons did the White Witch (from Narnia), and Snow White's mama (the next one) is by Trina Schart Hyman.

Yes, I thought of you when I found the pibble!

These are gorgeous. ♥ I may snag some, I may not — I haven't been doing much around my eljay lately.
Dec. 4th, 2008 06:55 pm (UTC)

I'm glad you like them!

*shifty eyes*

Do you have a copy of the Yuya or the one your using in the post without the text, by any chance?
Dec. 4th, 2008 08:06 pm (UTC)

You're in luck ... after the first few, I didn't bother to save my Photoshop source files because most of these were pretty straightforward (crop - clean background - reduce - lettering - border). But I have the full version of the Wind Child (the one I used myself) and a several-versions-back version of Yuya, because it actually took some work to make Kyo fade into the background (as you might imagine!). Do you want Yuya with snowflakes and a border? That's quick to do - but the Photoshop file was saved before I added them, and I didn't re-save it after I exported the icon.

Pretty! The fox and the bluejay are my favourites! May I steal the latter for use over on IJ? (I don't have free icon spaces here.)
Dec. 5th, 2008 02:11 am (UTC)

Certainly! I'm glad you liked them!

I'm so glad you liked them! Thanks!

Okay, well, I'm grabbing the one with the fox in it, because how could I not. :-) I am also contemplating candles (both the hanukiah and the three pillars), as well as Tumnus and Lucy.

I think I might love something with the Charlie Brown Xmas Special, but I wouldn't know which bit.

These are charming! Thanks!
Dec. 5th, 2008 12:14 pm (UTC)

I just took a look at some Charlie Brown images ... they might be surprisingly hard to work in icons because the lines are rather thin/fine compared with the areas of color. But if I can take a moment today, I'll see what I can do.

The candles are nice and glowy, aren't they? When it gets this cold and dark, there's something extra-appealing about them.

Thanks, I'm glad you're enjoying them!

You're most welcome! Patience Brewster is so cracktastic ... I'm sending out some of her cards this year!

Dec. 4th, 2008 09:09 pm (UTC)
Snaffling the windowcats whilst panicking at the reminder that it would be as well to get some words out of my head and into the computer before too long. BUT WHEN?! Thank you!
Dec. 5th, 2008 12:21 pm (UTC)

I know exactly what you mean - I've finished my source material re-read and now it's time to move on ... but how?? I'm glad you found an icon to suit!

Dec. 4th, 2008 09:28 pm (UTC)
Oooh, thank you! I've been needing a Yuletide icon, and having one made by a buddy is the best! :) (I took 29.)
Dec. 5th, 2008 12:23 pm (UTC)

Aww, it makes me happy that you like them, buddy-san! That #29 is from a children's picture book about the solstice.

Dec. 4th, 2008 09:41 pm (UTC)
These are gorgeous! I've nabbed #29 and may come back for more. Thank you so much for making them! :D
Dec. 5th, 2008 12:24 pm (UTC)

Have as many as you like ... they're fat-free!

I'm happy that you found one to suit you~!

Aww ... it's sad that you didn't. Crazy schedule this year, I guess?

Thanks for the kind words about the icons!

Dec. 4th, 2008 10:50 pm (UTC)
Ooooohhh, Cho! Every single one is fab! I'll be snagging quite a few -- esp. the Snow Queens! You know what a sucker I am for her...

Dec. 5th, 2008 12:29 pm (UTC)

Actually, I didn't but I do now! I love Leo and Diane Dillon's work. I'm glad you are enjoying the icons!

(Heh heh heh Santa Cthulu! A good companion for Terry Pratchett's Hogfather, who is kindly old Death in disguise ... it's a long story!)

Dec. 4th, 2008 10:59 pm (UTC)
So many lovely icons! I've taken the Narnia one, and may come back for more. Thank you very much. :)
Dec. 5th, 2008 12:31 pm (UTC)

Aww, thanks! I'm glad one of them called out to you! (And welcome back, anytime ... .)

Snagging #16! Thanks!
Dec. 5th, 2008 12:34 pm (UTC)

Hmm, seeing your icon makes me realize that I didn't have any with a music theme (files thought away for next year). I'm glad you found one you liked!

Pretty! I particularly like the fox and the penguins.
Dec. 5th, 2008 12:38 pm (UTC)

The penguins were so popular last year, when I had "Yuletide 2007" on them, that I just had to being them back. Thanks for the kind words!

Dec. 4th, 2008 11:58 pm (UTC)
So pretty!

Awww, thanks, Hobbit-san!
